NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • Congratulations to Kristi Murray, Gracie Hubley, and Dakota Rivers for being awarded the Jump Rope for Heart, Hoops for Heart Coordinator of the Year! They raised over $10,000 dollars in the 2014-2015 school year!
  • The Kindergarten class is enjoying their new SMART Table! They love learning with the new technology!
  • On Thursday, November 5th, St. Mary's sponsored a Law Enforcement Appreciation Dinner where all law enforcement officers, and a guest, were invited to attend a complementary dinner, courtesy of St. Mary's Parent/Teacher Organization. St. Mary's would like to thank all of the people who were involved in planning this event. Additionally, St. Mary's appreciates the officer's service and dedication to our community and state.
  • On Wednesday, November 11, St. Mary's had a Veteran's Day Celebration. The Kindergarten and Senior classes showed their support for our brave men and women currently serving as a part of our armed forces, and all veterans who have served our country in the past. After the presentation a small reception was held and all veterans and their families were invited to attend.
  • Ms. Ashley, a dental assistant from Dr. Vienne's office, visited Mrs. Leone's Pre-K class to teach the children about good dental hygiene! She discussed her job and passed out toothpaste, toothbrushes, and floss to each child! Nurse Ellen Mathis also visited her class to tell the students about her job as a nurse in our community. She brought a doctors kit for their Home Living Center as well as one for each student to take home. Her grandson, Konner, presented her with roses, as she visited us on her birthday!
  • Congratulations to Madelyn Matt on signing a national letter of intent to play softball at Northwestern State University!!!
  • Mrs. Maggio's middle school religion and 10th grade religion classes made rosaries for the soldiers. These Rosaries are made with black beads and khaki cord so that they cannot reflect off the sun and show the position of the soldiers. The students had to make all of the knots between each decade and be sure that there was no space between each section. This took a long time. Mrs. Shaun Wheat came to the classes to show the students how to make the rosaries and donated the supplies to make them. The classes were able to make 96 Rosaries. These were blessed by Father Ryan Humphries, Pastor of the Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. The Rosaries are being mailed to an organization called Rosaries for the Troops that will distribute them to the soldiers in active combat zones.
  • Book Fair is here! Students are making wish lists today and shopping begins next week. We have books for all ages including adults! Come see us!
